TechCrunch’s “How to Speak Startup”

California: Land of lingo, nexus of neologisms, center of slang and soon-to-be hack-kneed expressions (see what I did there?), where the chronically insecure seek to upgrade their social status with verbal affectations to demonstrate their, like, awesome hipnicity (I just made that up). Naturally, Silicon Valley’s developed its own style of talkin ish: TechCrunch’s Alex Wilhelm offers a brief course in Startup Speak, which, I will note, is a Tech Talk brogramming meta-language built upon the legacy Surfer Speak platform. Hence, excessive use of dude, cool, totally, and bro are, like, hella necessary for fluency.
