Freelance Economy: It’s Here To Stay

July 14th, 2015

The future workforce – or the Freelance Economy – is here to stay. It’s rather robust, with 53 million Americans working as freelancers. This sweeping trend continues to grow, effectively impacting the economy and shifting the workplace culture. How do you navigate this new standard?

Some other facts:

  • Freelancers make up about 34% of the U.S. workforce.
  • This workforce adds $715 billion annually through freelance work.

The survey by the Freelancers Union & Elance-oDesk defined “freelancers” as “individuals who have engaged in supplemental, temporary, or project- or contract-based work in the past 12 months.”
